Previous knowledge
My previous knowledge of designing apps or using app inventor was zero
Areas of strength
- I have used apps on my phone so at least I was aware of what they are and what they do.
Areas of weakness
- Complete lack of subject knowledge.
Current Knowledge
I feel that I now have a basic understanding of the functions of App Inventor.
I completed 3 projects when using App Inventor, this gave me a chance to understand the basic operation of apps with regard to:
- How the control panel is designed.
- The blocks editor.
- The emulator.
I feel that App Inventor is an area that I need to spend more time becoming familiar with.
Strategies For teaching
Use the MIT App inventor website.
Work through tutorials.
Rework some of the advanced tutorials. Get the class to put their own spin on some of the Apps.
